It can eliminate the risks associated with PST files, as well as reducing ongoing costs and supporting IT requirements for Compliance and eDiscovery.

PST Enterprise will discover PST files on network servers and end user systems and migrate this data to Exchange and Office 365.

Complete PST Discovery

Locate all PST files on local drives, network drives, USB drives, etc., whether they are connected to an Outlook profile or not.

No Client Install

The solution is non-invasive, with no client software install required.

Automatic Ownership

PST files not connected an Outlook profile can have their ownership determined automatically based on the contents of the file.





Direct Migration

Data is migrated directly from source PST to target mailbox (in Exchange or Office 365) without routing via a central server.  This removes the risk of bottlenecks and reduces network bandwidth issues.

Network Independent

Migration of PST files on laptops can continue even when not connected to the corporate network.

Copy or Delete

Individual PST files can be copied or moved to another file location, or just deleted.

Multiple Actions

How does PST Enterprise work?

Locating PST Files

PST files are located and processed automatically regardless of their status, across end user systems as well as on network file servers.

No client software is installed to discover and migrate PST files, as PST Enterprise runs  in the background in memory on each target system.

If any PST files discovered are not attached to an Outlook profile, an owner for each file will be determined automatically by analysing the file and data within it.

Processing PST Files

Files are processed directly from their original location, even if they are open in Outlook.  The single‑stage migration process in PST Enterprise means files are not copied to a central server first, so network traffic is kept to a minimum.

Data within PST files can be migrated into live or archive mailboxes in Exchange or Office 365, or into a third‑party archive solution.  PST files can also be copied or moved to a selected location.

Original folder structures within PST files are maintained during data migration, minimizing the impact on end users.

PST migration and copy operations can be limited to process only data that falls within specified date ranges, allowing administrators to manage the amount of historical data transferred from each file in line with their data retention policy.  Data that falls out of range can be permanently deleted if needed.

Once migration has completed, PST files can be disconnected from Outlook, and can also be compacted or deleted if required.

Managing the Operation

Deployments can scale right up to enterprise level, making the solution suitable for the largest organisations. The management console provides full control over all activities, and a detailed audit trail supports compliance initiatives.

PST Enterprise allows you to configure at a client or global level

Built‑in rate controls, scheduling options and threshold settings allow administrators to manage the load on their networks, minimising the impact on on-going operations and end‑user productivity.

The self‑service portal is a configurable option that enables end-users to decide how their own PST files are processed and where they are moved to.


PST Enterprise has three installable components:

PST Enterprise Server

This coordinates all PST discovery and email migration operations, as well as driving the two web interfaces and maintaining a SQL database which provides a full audit trail of all activities.

PST Enterprise Agent Server

An optional component that moves or copies existing PST files if required

PST Enterprise Client

This runs in memory on each target system (laptop, desktop or server). It locates individual PST files and processes them according to pre-defined policies. Operation of the Client is normally invisible to end users.
PST Enterprise Server provides two web interfaces:

PST Enterprise Management Console

This is the IT administration interface for the entire product. This provides a complete overview of operations and is used by IT administrators to create PST policies, manage the migration process and resolve error situations.

PST Enterprise Self Service

An optional component that allows end users to view the PST files discovered on their system and to decide which policy to apply to each file
